Faith with Works
Introduction
Faith is the basis of all things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen. Therefore, it is important that we learn these three things, namely faith without works is dead faith, Abraham was justified by God because of his works, faith cannot be separated from deeds.
Content
Firstly, faith without works is dead faith. Saving faith is so important expressed in every godly act and sincerity to Christ that is motivated by love. True faith always manifests itself in obedience to God and acts of mercy. If we profess faith but there are no actions that show faith it is the same as no faith. We know nothing of faith without works and faith without works means zero.
Secondly, Abraham was justified by God because of his works. Abraham's righteousness did not come from keeping the law but by faith and works cooperating in love. We can reread the story of how his willingness to sacrifice his son to God revealed his faith and commitment to God. We recall the story when God told him to go from his country to a foreign land, without a doubt he stepped according to God and this is his faith which is accompanied by deeds so that he is justified by God. We can be justified by God only when we live by faith and work by love.
Finally, faith cannot be separated from deeds. Our actions reveal our faith or our faith is expressed in every action. Our work will naturally flow from faith. Right action results from true faith in God. So, faith is shown in actions.
POV
Our faith and works do not save because we are saved only by grace through faith in Jesus. Our works are evidence of our living faith because if faith is without works it means faith is dead. let the faith we have always be seen in every action and of course, it is only based on love.
Conclusion
There are some lessons for us, namely nothing of faith without works, and faith without works means zero. We can be justified by God only when we live by faith and work by love. Faith is shown in actions.
