“Gideon Defeats the Midianites”
Judges 7:1-7
Introduction
Gideon was a man sent by God to save the Israelites from the Midianites. Gideon was an unfearful hero who, though still young, was chosen by God to play a meaningful role in saving the Israelites. We can see this has effects, in spiritual life that is to set an example for us that crucial to have a close relationship with God and obey God's will, and in physical life to care for others. God will use someone who pleases Him like Gideon to do His work for salvation.
Content
The main reason why God chose Gideon is that he was an unfearful hero. Because of this, starting from the Israel nation crying out to God to be freed from the threat of the Midianites. Hence God heard their cry and chose one brave man to be the leader of their army. Gideon, though still young, was chosen by God to lead the nation against the Midianites. As a result of this, courage is a must-have when we want to move forward.
The first effect of this is we learn important lessons in our spiritual life as it is crucial to have a close relationship with our Lord and choose to obey Him. Having a close relationship with God makes us feel calm and can be a blessing to others. God will surely give us wisdom in making every decision. God's name will be glorified through our lives when we are near to the Lord and obey Him. This means relationship and obedience to God is important for everyone in life.
The last effect of this is we learn for our physical life how to care for each other. As Gideon's thought not only of himself but his nation as well. This is also the reason why he accepts God's call to be a leader because he cares. Caring for others makes us happy because we can be a blessing. As a result, near to the Lord it means we will care for each other because God loves everyone in this world.
POV
The first capital to move forward is courage. The true sense of courage is when we are close to God and willing to give ourselves to obey Him wholeheartedly so that in God's way, we will be a blessing to others and glorify our God.
Conclusion
God knows everyone and He will choose someone who pleases Him like Gideon to do His work for the salvation of His people. Moving forward takes courage. Crucial to have a close relationship with our Lord and choose to obey Him. God wants us to care for each other. He knows the best for His people.
